“An excellent way of making spaghetti and meat sauce.” Serving: 6

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz.) package pasta
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 2 tsps. soy sauce
  • 1/2 onion, finely diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped
  • 1/8 tsp. minced garlic
  • 2 tsps. dried oregano
  • 1/4 tbsp. dried basil

Direction

  • In a large pot, pour boiling salted water and cook pasta till al dente. Drain.
  • In the meantime, in a large pot, cook ground beef with water over medium heat. Take away the excess water using a spoon when beef has cooked. Allow a little liquid to remain in order to enhance flavor. Put in celery, tomato sauce, soy sauce, and green bell pepper. Cook for around 10 minutes. Put in basil, oregano, and garlic to taste. Simmer for about 10 to 20 minutes.
  • Serve over cooked and drained pasta with meat sauce.
