Ingredients

  • 6 small hard-boiled eggs approximately 240g or 0.53 lb
  • 2 teaspoons mustard 10g or 0.02 lb
  • 6 strips cooked bacon 90g or 0.2 lb
  • 2 medium tomatoes sliced (180g or 0.4 lb)
  • 3 baby romaine lettuce heads 120g or 0.26 lb
  • Salt to taste 5g or 0.01 lb
  • Black pepper to taste 3g or 0.007 lb

Instructions

  • Carefully slice each hard-boiled egg in half lengthwise.
  • For 6 of the egg halves, gently trim a small portion of the rounded bottom to create a flat surface for standing.
  • Season the exposed yolks with a sprinkle of salt and black pepper.
  • Spread a thin layer of mustard over the seasoned yolks.
  • Top each prepared egg half with a strip of crispy bacon, a slice of fresh tomato, and a piece of romaine lettuce.
  • Carefully place the remaining egg halves on top, creating a sandwich-like structure.
  • Secure each slider with a toothpick or cocktail stick.
  • Optionally, garnish with an extra sprinkle of black pepper or sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Substitute mustard with mayonnaise, horseradish, or ketchup for a different flavor profile.
  • Use your preferred bacon variety, whether pre-cooked or freshly prepared. Adjust the amount based on the length of the bacon strips.
  • Choose smaller tomatoes, such as vine or plum tomatoes, for a better fit in the sliders.
  • Romaine lettuce can be replaced with other crisp lettuce varieties like iceberg or green leaf.
  • These sliders can be prepared 2-4 hours in advance, but avoid overnight preparation to maintain freshness.
  • For easier eating, consider using small to medium-sized eggs instead of large ones.
