Hard-boiled eggs in the air fryer are the quickest and most effortless method to achieve perfectly cooked eggs! You can skip the boiling water entirely. Plus, they're incredibly easy to peel.
Place the eggs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching.
Set the air fryer to 250°F (120°C). Cook for 15-17 minutes, depending on your desired yolk firmness. For softer yolks, cook for 15 minutes. For firmer yolks, cook for 16-17 minutes.
While the eggs cook, prepare an ice bath by filling a large bowl with ice and cold water.
When the cooking time is up, immediately remove the eggs from the air fryer using tongs and gently place them in the ice bath. Let the eggs sit in the ice bath for 5 minutes to stop the cooking process.
Gently tap the eggs on a hard surface to crack the shells all over. Peel the eggs starting from the wider end where the air pocket is located. The shells should come off easily.
Rinse the peeled eggs under cold water to remove any shell pieces. Pat dry and enjoy immediately or store in the refrigerator for later use.
Notes
No preheating of the air fryer is needed for this recipe. The cooking time accounts for the air fryer starting cold.
Cooking times may vary slightly between different air fryer models and sizes. Use the times provided as a guideline and adjust as needed for your specific air fryer.
For easy peeling, use eggs that are at least a week old. Very fresh eggs can be more difficult to peel.
Store any leftover hard-boiled eggs unpeeled in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Once peeled, consume within 2 days.
Hard boiled eggs in air fryer make perfect for snacking, making egg salad, adding to salads, or transforming into deviled eggs.
