Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings separated into flats and drumettes (907g)
  • 1 teaspoon salt 6g
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper 1.5g
  • ½ cup Frank's RedHot Buffalo Wings Sauce 120ml
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted (57g)

Instructions

  • Dry the wings with paper towels. Season them all over with salt and pepper.
  • Preheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C). Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overlapping. You may need to cook in batches.
  • Air fry the wings at 380°F (193°C) for 20 minutes, flipping them over halfway through cooking.
  • Increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C). Continue air frying the wings for 5-8 more minutes, until they are golden brown and super crispy.
  • While the wings are cooking, whisk together the buffalo sauce and melted butter in a large mixing bowl.
Juicy buffalo chicken wings prepared with air fryer recipes, garnished with green onions on a white plate, ready to be dipped in ranch sauce.
  • When the wings are done, transfer them to the bowl with the sauce. Toss until the wings are evenly coated.
  • Serve the buffalo wings immediately with ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping, and celery and carrot sticks on the side. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Make sure to pat the wings very dry before seasoning for maximum crispiness.
  • Cooking time may vary slightly depending on the size of your wings and your air fryer model.
  • For even crispier skin, you can toss the wings with ½ teaspoon of baking powder along with the salt and pepper before air frying.
  • To make these wings less spicy, use a mild buffalo sauce. For more heat, add a dash of cayenne pepper to the sauce.
  • Leftover wings can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 360°F for 5 minutes to re-crisp.
