Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 1 pound frozen sweet potato chunks 454 grams, 1 lb
  • 1 teaspoon Italian herb mix dried (3 grams)
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil 10 mL
  • ½ teaspoon salt 2 grams
  • ½ teaspoon crushed black pepper 2 grams
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder 3 grams
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder 3 grams
  • Pinch of chili powder optional (1 gram)

Instructions

  • Put the frozen sweet potato cubes in a bowl. Drizzle with the olive oil and sprinkle with the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian herb mix, and chili powder if using. Toss until the potatoes are thoroughly coated.
  • Transfer the coated sweet potatoes to the air fryer basket in a single layer, being careful not to overcrowd.
  • Set the air fryer to 400°F and cook for 12-15 minutes, shaking halfway through, until the potatoes are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

Notes

  • Do not thaw the sweet potatoes before air frying or cooking from frozen works best.
  • Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket so the potatoes cook evenly. Cook in batches if needed.
  • Use air fryer liners or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • The air fryer yields better results than the oven for frozen sweet potatoes.
  • To reheat leftovers, air fry at 350°F for 4-5 minutes or microwave until hot.
