EASY GUACAMOLE WITH ONE AVOCADO

Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium Haas avocado 200g, 0.44lb
  • 1 tablespoon 10g finely diced red onion
  • 1 plum tomato seeded and diced (80g)
  • 1 tablespoon 5g chopped cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon lemon or lime juice 5mL
  • teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Ripe and peel the avocado, then scoop the flesh into a bowl. Mash the avocado with a fork until mostly smooth but still slightly chunky. Stir in the onion, tomato, cilantro (if using), lemon/lime juice and salt. Taste and adjust seasoning if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

For the best flavor, use a perfectly ripe avocado. Adding acid from citrus juice helps prevent browning. Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of leftover guacamole to help prevent oxidation. Guacamole can also be stored with avocado pits or onion slices mixed in to help reduce avocado from browning.
